Summary

STRIVE is a free Utah entrepreneurship course for veterans, service members, and military spouses, delivered through SLCC's Veteran Business Resource Center. Its value is a structured path from concept to pitch for founders whose military experience does not automatically translate into startup fluency.

Who It's For

Veterans, active-duty service members, reserve and guard members, military spouses, and graduates of other IVMF programs with an early-stage business idea.

What It Provides

A phased program: (1) meet a VBRC business advisor and apply; (2) eight weeks of in-person/hybrid training covering market validation, viability, finance, and a final business pitch; (3) post-program advising, mentorship, and events through VBRC and the IVMF network. Agriculture STRIVE is available by request on the application.

How To Use It

Start with the official website, then confirm current programs before recommending.

Cost / Eligibility

Free to eligible participants. Funded in part by a grant agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Apply through VBRC and select SLCC on the application.

Best Fits

Military-connected Utah founders with an early-stage idea who want cohort training plus ongoing VBRC advising — not for established companies seeking executive scaling programs.
