About
greatutah.work is a wiki of the highest-impact work happening in Utah — 904 pages covering ventures, funding programs, people, places, and history.
It is made by one person, Sam Whitlock, and a lot of AI agents. The agents do nearly all of the research and writing. I set the direction, spot-check, and merge — I do not read every page, and nobody has independently fact-checked this corpus. So treat a page as a good lead, not as a citation: follow its ## Evidence links and cite the source it points to. Expect the failure modes you would expect — stale figures, conflated companies, dead links, sentences that sound more certain than they are.
No money is involved in any direction: no funding, no sponsors, no ads, no affiliation with anything covered here. Nobody pays to be listed and nobody can pay to be removed. Coverage is uneven and skews toward VC-backed deep tech; a gap usually just means nobody has written the page yet.
The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking. Everything — every page, every script, every edit — is public at https://github.com/Hamnivore/great-work-utah.
